I'm just gona put a tl;dr here:
Please do not scrap this update like primal dragons because people are getting mad, and actually make the changes that are needed to make a good update. There are some REALLY ****ing cool things and most of the changes here are fine, but some of them aren't great for the game.
Pickonimbus nerf
- no one asked, but yeah makes sense to add the requirement so keep that but also keep the old mining speed, maybe make it give the same speed as before on gemstones but less speed on mithril or something idrk. Nerfing the speed is fine too though since it can help push drills
Sorrow nerf
- LITERALLY no one asked, hotm has nothing to do with how you drop it, hotm 5 isn't too bad of a requirement but just, why? It's not even just for mining, it's a great magic find set before crimson so I just don't see the reasoning here. It's decently expensive so it's not an insane progression skip for new players either
Gauntlet nerf
- Might be controversial, but I somewhat agree with this. Gauntlet basically invalidated every single drill the game for anyone who doesn't use mining as their main money making method. However the nerf was insanely overkill. 800 mining speed is unbelievably terrible. Gemstone gauntlet should be a budget pristine slot if needed and the best mining weapon. However, we don't really need a mining weapon, the only mob that you can't one shot with a random pickaxe or cheap sword are ghosts. Maybe they could make gauntlet a ghost farming weapon? idrk honestly that seems a bit broken. I think that a good way to appease everyone is to keep gauntlet how it was but just buff the drills so that some of the lower tier drills have pristine slots and are better than gemstone gauntlet while further increasing the x655 and divan's drill's leads. I'll talk about how to do this without inflation later on
But basically, make charging it more useful, keep its mining stats similar (like maybe 1400-1500 ms instead of 800 wtf), and buff the other drills around it to make some lower tier drills outclass it. Current suggested change is terrible.
Crystal hollows access
- This is fine, more of an even spread, plus with the bingo hotm xp buff it's not that big of a deal
Nucleus Meter
- **** YES 100% YES. Plus got rid of that goofy alloy system, so that's another plus. This is a great change, and should lower the barrier of entry to a divan drill
Pure ores
- Great for bingo and earlygame, nothing else to it
New fortunes:
Yeah sure this is a good change for clarity and allowing them to buff mycelium grinding without breaking gemstone/mithril mining
Heat resistance:
Overall this new stat change is good. Personally I think that kaza-dum or whatever shouldn't have the heat change to allow for bal pet grinding. Now you have to kill it within 50s or use water bottles, since if you leave kazaduhm to disperse heat bal despawns

Great change for clarity!
Hotm Changes:
Don't know enough to make a statement about these, but I guess buffing gemstone powder, making it more useful, and removing mithril powder from chests kinda makes sense? Idk, personally I liked the old system more but a pickaxe ability rework was necessary
Forge slot changes
These are great, especially since drills are about to become much more prevalent, so the forge will be used a lot more
Drill Changes
Great, making the costs lower since they're going to become much more prevalent. This is a great change since it solves one of the three problems drills used to have, those being that they were way to expensive, most of them just sucked, and they were unusable on high ping. Although they didn't fix the first two issues, fixing one is still a step in the right direction
Mining Reforge stones:
Great! Gives each one a specific niche, changes the names of amber material and refined amber to distinguish it. Some of them still aren't the best but these new reforges are better than the previous set. Amber material is what you use for mining speed, andesite thing is what you use for mining wisdom, diamonite is the best for block fortune (mithril, umber, glacite, titanium), geode is a mix of ms and mf, etc.
Mining pet changes:
None of them matter except for the bal pet changes which I don't like since you now need to manage heat. Maybe they could make managing heat more interesting like add a glacite drill which is worse than the x655 but reduces your heat while you hold it so you would swap between the two depending on your heat, maybe add a deployable, idk. But on its own, right now the bal pet change isn't ready.
Drill changes
I don't know enough about these to say how they effect them, but if they make some of the mid tier drills better than the old gemstone gauntlet I'm all for it
